Our four founders grew up here in the Hudson Valley, but each explored different entrepreneurial paths. With a strong friendship in place over many years, they had experienced and shared one too many stories about local farms dying and being sold to developers. But the legalization of hemp crystallized a vision: the Hudson Valley was their home, their friendships were a foundation, and their divergent paths in business were a strength. Together, they formed a rock solid team and set out to save local farms, take on craft mastery in this burgeoning field of hemp and CBD, and have a great time doing it. Today, Hudson River Farms produces high-quality cannabis for New York State’s recreational cannabis market.
Our growing location is a rolling, former horse farm. Where we used to grow hay for feed, youโll now find a whole other type of nourishment, and itโs a truly beautiful plant. Our location in Hopewell Junction, NY, is approximately 280 acres surrounded by spectacular mountains and fantastic soil for growing cannabis. Itโs also where we germinate our seeds!
As a company at the forefront of hemp, we’re proud to celebrate the legalization of recreational cannabis in New York State. As members of the Cannabis Association of New York, our partners are integral pieces in the advocacy for recreational use, development of control systems, and the assurance of an equitable industry that builds up the cannabis community. In early 2022, Hudson River Hemp was awarded one of the first conditional licenses by New York State’s Office of Cannabis Management to begin growing recreational cannabis for the retail market.
